Crytek: "The new consoles can not be compared to the high-end PC"
If there is a study that gets to move the masses with his statements, is Crytek. They recently caught claiming that the first games of the next generation would be compare to Crysis 3, now they argue that the alleged PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 will not compete in power with the current high-end PC.
Cevat Yerli, one of the main authors of the study, has been adamant with Eurogamer British media, noting that despite being under a confidentiality agreement, he is not very satisfied with the final specifications of the successors to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Why? Simply because he ensures that these new consoles will not be able equated with a high-end PC, and as a reason puts on the table the issue of price. Clarifies that a closed system as a gaming platform that adapts to consumers, both in specifications and price, you will never be able to compete against each other in power with a high-end PC is focused on other users and a different orientation in their prices.
Obviously if a high-end PC worth 2000 euros, it is unthinkable that a $ 500 console can compete in features and, therefore, in specifications. Well, we all know that a console, with far less power than a PC game can move similarly regarding compatible, basically because it consumes resources much lower compared to that required in performance PC.
If these statements and Crytek is making us see that we will not wait for anything special in terms of power with the new consoles from Sony and Microsoft, there will be many disappointments. These statements contradict those made a few days ago by Epic Games, they assured that there would be a visual leap.
The first major company to move a card will be Sony this coming Wednesday, with the introduction of its new PlayStation 4 in style. Since that day we'll see if Crytek's words are meaningless.
