Guild Wars 2 confirmed for 2012

The president and founder of ArenaNet Mike O'Brien moved this morning to the community of Guild Wars 2 with a blog post celebrating 2012 as the Year of the Dragon and the official launch of Guild Wars 2.

The Game recently completed a very small closed beta, and now ArenaNet is planning to open the door a little to test it quickly: "In February we will invite selected press to participate in the beta testing, and in March and April we will aggressively increase the size of our beta test event and many of you will have the opportunity to participate. "

This is the time that the Guild of Wars fans are eagerly waiting for a couple of years: the release sometime in 2012 of Guild Wars 2. O'Brien ended his blog post with words that guarantee a smile on the face of all fans of the game: "Welcome to the year of the Dragon, the year of Guild Wars 2."

Remember that Guild Wars 2 development was a long time without a definite date of release, and its predecessor Guild Wars is a MMORPG that unlike WOW only requires the purchase of the game once to play as much as you want and not a monthly fee to play, apparently this policy will continue.

DC Universe Online: 700% earnings growth since it's free

DC Universe Online changed to the model "freemium" few months ago(November 2011), meaning that you can play for free but the game is maintained through microtransactions, which are not mandatory but which enhance the experience of those who wish to invest in the title. This seems to be the way they are going to continue to take most of the MMORPG and thanks to this change the game to beat the worst nemesis that not even the greatest superhero ever overcame: the low number of subscribers.

According to John Smedley, president of Sony Online Entertainment, the DCUO player base has grown to 6% per day according to one recent post on his Twitter. As if this were not enough, game daily income reported growth of over 700% during the same period, 47% of PC users and 53% of PS3 owners. European players increased from 20 to 50%.

The change caused many old players who had already left the game to put their latex suits, their cloaks and return to the fight with more than 85% of daily log-ins. This is good news because more players means more fun and chaos in the digital city of DC, giving a new opportunity for all MMORPG that want to achieve a place in a market dominated by the king of kings of the genre: World of Warcraft.

If you haven't downloaded on your PC or PS3 you can go to the game's official website and download, but you have to be patience as the file is about 17GB, but definitely worth it!

Star Wars: The Old Republic has more than 1 million users

The anticipated Star Wars: The Old Republic (released on December 20), BioWare's new MMORPG is destined to dethrone the Eternal World of Warcraft. The truth is that it is going on the right way to do so, because in 6 days has surpassed one million registered users, making it the highest peak MMORPG's growth in history.

This massively multiplayer online game that is obviously based on the Star Wars universe, also have a strong argument. The plot, always so scorned in this genre, is reaching an important level in this title, giving each mission, the "epicness" that it deserves. Thus, we have to choose sides in a war to try to give the power of the galaxy to the Republic or the Sith Empire.
