Gears of War: Judgment, First Impressions


Gears of War Judgment becomes, once again, to be a shooter in the unusual third person in which a squad of disproportionately muscular men and women only vaguely female face an unknown enemy monster that came out of the ground and wants to kill all the world. Damon Baird still lieutenant of the squad kilo, we count the events of the day of the emergency, when the Locust Horde decided to take the surface to the assault. The Gears of War franchise has always held a special place in my heart. I can not count the times I've played the campaigns or the amount of times I've failed miserably in Horde mode. When I heard that the trilogy, which said they were not going to make more deliveries, will have a new game, I received the news with mixed feelings. First, they would release another Gears. Furthermore, they had one more chance to break Gears.


Where are my grenades?

The highlight and one of the things that will hurt the old fans is that they have chosen to change the control scheme. Looking standardization, Gears of War Judgment get me fighting the controller for a while, instinctively looking my grenades in the crosshairs. This is more of an emotional level complaint than mechanic but can hinder how it will fit the fan base of the original trilogy to this new release. And the fan base is not quite ready to fit anything without complaining.

The rest of the most notable changes are in the new multiplayer mode. Dubbed as "Overrun" confronts us to ten waves of incredible difficulty. Our goal is to defend an emergence hole sealing locust onslaught. When the seal loses its integrity, players fall back on a posterior position to defend from the advancing horde that appear from the newly reopened hole. In the third and final phase, the Gears must defend a transmitter that is ordering an attack with the hammer of dawn, representing his last chance to reject their brutal enemies.

Overrun mode of Gears of War Judgment presents also the new class system. Maybe demystifying the COG soldier is able to employ with equal efficiency a sniper rifle than a retro-lancer, Overrun has four classes, each with different gear and special abilities. This forces a team to be much more coordinated and enhances the sense of belonging to a squadron. As a final note, Overrun is extremely difficult, with the level of the enemies grow exponentially after each wave. For a moment you are defending yourselve from Therons and tickers, a couple of waves later you have a Corpser digging under your defenses and eating your transmitter.


From Lieutenant to war criminal

Braid Damon leads the cast of Gears of War Judgment, supported by Augustus "Cole Train" Cole as another character who returns from the last delivery. Cole, unfortunately, lost some prominence, especially in the first chapter, in favor of the other two members of the squad kilo. The story is told from the perspective of the statements of the members from kilo amid the locust onslaught.

Garron Paduck play the bitter cast of the plot. Former Army officer and veteran of the UIR, COG enemies Pendulum wars, now joins the ranks of Gears under the command of a lieutenant newbie like Baird. Play it again

People Can Fly have been keen to Gears of War Judgment is replayable. This implemented a dynamic appearance of enemies, making each section contains different enemies and come from different angles. If it was something remarkable during the preview, was only because of the discrepancies in the difficulty of climbing the same stairs twice. Think Fable, Dead Space or Assassins Creed. Gears of War has achieved at least that. Now preparing for a new release. It will not be better than Gears of War 3. It is almost impossible that it will be just as good. But that does not mean there will not be a good game.

What I saw and played in the presentation was a solid game, with a campaign interesting for fans of the series and for newcomers and a challenging new cooperative multiplayer. Yes, I found details that made it feel different from my old and loved Gears of War, but not for stop wanting to play it. Nothing would please me more than to see all the fanboys, who are criticizing the game having only seen screenshots, having to eat his words. Unfortunately, the fanboys never admit anything and the game still has time to be failure.

God of War: Ascension Trailer With The New Co-op Mode


Sony has made available to all its huge public a new trailer for God of War: Ascension, it shows one of the most anticipated game modes from this new delivery the multiplayer cooperative mode called Trial of the Gods.

From the first game in the series of God of War I have been a fan of the epic battles against waves or hordes of monsters and creatures of Greek mythology, really, who does not? If you've played any of these titles you are aware that much of the fun of the series is in this, in combat with swords and chains and spectacular shots to these mythological beasts.

The detail is so spectacular that it would share this experience, these epic battles with a friend cooperatively. Trial of the Gods is the way in which Sony gives us the opportunity to fight minotaurs, nymphs and other monsters of Greek mythology in the company of a friend, as two gladiators heroes in a supernatural battle, and looks fascinating.

As we can see in this trailer for God of War: Ascension, the new two-player mode will face five waves of enemies, one more difficult than the other, and with limited time. As you pass a wave (if you can do it) accumulate bonuses depending on performance time for the next horde.

At the end of the 5 waves we have to face a very difficult boss. Upon the arrival of God of War: Ascension, we are three maps for Trial of the Gods, but Sony says that as time goes on more maps will be offering for the first cooperative in the series starring Kratos.

This game will be available at March 12 exclusively for PlayStation 3.

Company of Heroes 2 Will Be Released at June

First trailer of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is filtered


This week Ubisoft have confirmed the existence of the next installment of one of the most successful franchises of the house, Assassin's Creed. We are just days from its presentation, but as often happens in the wonderful internet, it has leaked the first trailer for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, the next game based on stories of murderers and Templars, and this time also pirates.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag points in late October with Next-Gen Consoles Versions


A few days ago we did not know anything about a new Assassin's Creed, but in the last few hours some information have been filtering where many details of the game that has already been shown to the press. But pending the next Monday, we have to settle with different information being filtered in forums and websites worldwide. the last thing we know from a screenshot that has gone around the globe, this new Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, would also in the next generation of consoles and your departure date would be for 29 October.

Tomb Raider Review


Tomb Raider is a third person action game in which Lara Croft, a young archaeologist, goes in her first expedition in search of adventure but, instead, is trapped on an island where a somewhat unbalanced individual wants to sacrifice his best friend and anyone who gets in his way to appease some inexplicable storms surrounding the mysterious piece of land. Overall, Tomb Raider succeeds on two levels: The narrative is good and gets a connection to the main character rarely seen outside of an RPG, and the mechanics are solid and fun for the duration of the game. In fact, right now I can not think of anything bad about Tomb Raider.

New Lara Croft

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have made a major commitment here. Lara Croft has been in our lives since 1996. For some players this year will meet the twenty-few, Lara is as iconic as Sonic. Even more. When a character receives a redesign and restart your franchise to retell her story from a different point of view, the fans take to the streets with torches.

Tomb Raider present us a different  Lara Croft than we are used to. The whole game is put to use reforge a part of the video game story. With excellent results. I can not tell you how many times that of pure empathy, I closed my eyes and let out an "ouch" during the game. The new Lara is credible and deep, you can feel identified with it and would like to be her at times. Their decisions are brave but justified. All this is excellently integrated into the gameplay.

Lara's movements, and reacts to the proximity of enemies and the things she says to her heart, will evolve as Lara Croft goes from innocent and finally to Survivor. The very model of the protagonist changes at certain points of the game, physically representing the psychological and emotional change. It brought a smile to me when, in the middle of a firefight, Lara began to threaten their enemies the first time demonstrated to be afraid of "foreign".


Nothing new, Everything is Fine

To Game Level, Tomb Raider has a difficult job. The narrative of the game and its protagonist can be very attractive but without a fun gaming experience, it would be a good movie too expensive. Luckily, Tomb Raider is up to the challenge. Unfortunately, the risk was so high that they would not do anything too new. Tomb Raider reuses already proven formulas almost exclusively.

What are you going to be doing is moving between fights. To help movement is both easy and fun, Lara's control system is fluid, dynamic and fun. We require very little and there are only a handful of short sections where you need to go in a hurry. Halfway are stealth sections, some of them very intense. Other times the game jumps straight into battle without your permission. As you get used to is no longer annoying.

The combat is well balanced, which is saying a lot. Not much choice of weapons but each behaves different enough to find them eventually. The shotgun gives you more stuck in short-range, while the gun has that sense of subtlety that does not need a gun. If there is anything to complain about here, is the supernatural ability of enemies to know your exact location at all times. Just an enemy sees you for that with his telepathic powers, alert all their friends, who come to empty boots on feet wall behind which you are hiding.

While the campaign is pretty linear, the amount of collectibles and semi-open maps give enough room for exploration, which is properly rewarded for worthwhile. The tombs are moving puzzle challenges rather than logic. It's a shame, but better fits the atmosphere of the game.



Hell in paradise

As for the graphics, you have to look Tomb Raider with two lenses. On one hand, Lara models, the three that are used during the game, have a level of detail and quality with their impressive animations, especially in video scenes. Moreover, the environments are very nice ... until you get too close.

It is clear where the is interest on Tomb Raider. The balance is difficult but very accomplished. While a picture is generally rich environments are intended to convey emotion. When the camera descends to detail, it is normal that you're setting the protagonists, especially Lara, whose models have a flawless finish.

The level design of Tomb Raider goes along the narrative. Each phase corresponds to a point in history, to a situation where the nightmare that is the island. The objectives are well defined and obstacles, ground to cross or people to shoot are suited to the level expected of the player. From my perspective, this is one of the great triumphs of Tomb Raider: Making always feel challenged but never stuck.

An outstanding game that lacks only a little innovation to have marked an era. I love the new Lara Croft and I can not wait to see what the next mess mess in which the children of Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix.

The Last of Us is one of the titles that have thrilled PlayStation 3 users, who hope to many looking forward to the launch of this new game from Naughty Dog studios, responsible for the hit Uncharted series. Well today, from these studies tell us a bit more from what will surely be one of the best games of the year, as they have released the first developer diary for The Last of us, showing us how they created the infected , those beings mutants been one of the greatest dangers we will face in the game.

This title tells the story of a man and a girl who must survive in a post-apocalyptic world and its dangers,  at first seemed limited to escape from greedy and evil human, who have become this way because the time and situation in which they live, we also have one more enemy to face, those infected.

These hideous creatures were once human, but thanks to being infected with a fungus (guess which mystery disclose during the game) have come to be this way unpleasant and disgusting, besides being much more violent now. Virtually the fungus has taken control of their minds and therefore their bodies. According to the developers explain, the design of these beings was inspired by a BBC documentary called "Planet Earth" and after much research between fungi and diseases that peculiar and disgusting achieved final design. Creepy, but great.

In the previous gameplay video that Naughty Dog had published was the first we saw them, and I was one of the many people who ask, "Why is the character uses a flashlight and is not detected by the infected?" The answer is obvious, these deformed beings can not see. But beyond this, the system of "vision" or perception of the environment is through sound, such as bats, which adds a touch to the game even scarier considering the sounds they make those infected.

Not until June when we can get this title that does nothing to promise a spectacular and scary adventure.
